Although cutting edge care is essential for excellent patient outcomes, Dr. Van Thiel also believes that cutting edge care cannot be completed without compassion and humility.

“Great results can only be achieved if a patient has a thorough understanding of their condition and the treatment options available to them.  In many cases, there are multiple right answers and the goal of effective care is for the patient to arrive at the option that will provide the best and quickest return to activity.”

Here's what my patients are saying:

Dr. Van Thiel is wonderful and highly skilled. I had a Left Knee Osteochondral Allograft Transplant of the medial condyle 5 months ago. This was not an easy surgery, and together we have continued to see progress. Things are going well and I am still in therapy but my quality of life is so much better than it was before my surgery.

"Dr. Van Thiel was very informative and explained my condition thoroughly. He has a great supporting staff, they even contacted me over the weekend when there was a concern. I wanted to get back to golfing ASAP after surgery and within 10 weeks post op I was at the range with no pain! I would highly recommend Dr. VT!" Scott - review

"Dr. Van Thiel diagnosed in 15 minutes what couldn't do in 2 years!  While he's soft spoken, all of my questions were answered and I was given detailed, understandable explanations.  Pain relieved in my hip, surgery on my knee fixed!  Job well done, thank you! - Anonymous review on
