I graduated with my bachelors in nursing in 2004. Since then I worked all of my nursing career in a hospital setting until receiving my Masters of Nursing degree in 2016. I worked the last 6 years of my nursing career in an adult intensive care unit and enjoyed the challenge of caring for acutely ill patients. This led me to choose adult acute care as my specialty. While working as a bedside RN in an intensive care unit I learned how devastating acute illness can be to a family dynamic. In caring for the acutely ill it is important to understand that it is the worst event a patient and family can encounter. Now as a provider I can use my knowledge and understanding of the acutely ill to help care for neurosurgical patient.
