Welcome to OrthoIllinois!

I appreciate that you have entrusted me to provide care for your injury or condition and would like to offer you a little more about myself, my background, and patient care philosophy.

After earning my double major degrees in Chemistry and Molecular/Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, I attended Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. My passion for musculoskeletal medicine grew through the OMM (osteopathic manipulative medicine) I learned during that time. I was, and remain, fascinated with the body’s mechanics and its healing process.

I underwent my residency training at Presence Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, where I served as Chief Resident. I also was awarded The Gold Humanism Honor Society Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. During this time, I provided medical care to athletes at local high schools. That experience was a truly rewarding experience and led my focus to the specialty of sports medicine. I followed my medical residency at Presence Resurrection with an additional year of training by completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship.

Prior to joining OrthoIllinois I practiced in the northern Illinois region, served as a team physician at Rockford University, and still hold clinical faculty positions at my Alma Mater, Midwestern University. Being able to work outside of the office and in the community has always been a huge passion of mine and I continue to be involved with local high schools and athletic teams. For me, giving back and building rapport in the community is a truly rewarding experience.

I love providing care to every age group, from babies to geriatrics and I love every aspect of sports medicine. For that reason, I strive to treat my patients not as the disease or problem they present with, but as individuals. I believe that every patient knows their own body best and I build a relationship of trust by listening to them. Connection through empathy and working together allows me to identify the best plan to treat their injury successfully.

Outside of healthcare and sports medicine, I am a Disney fanatic! I take my wife and kids to Disney World as often as I can to enjoy that special family experience together. I also love horror movies, reading fantasy novels, and weight lifting and staying healthy.
