Advanced Care for Accidents, Fractures, and Falls

You don’t plan to experience an accident or fall, but if it happens, it’s reassuring to know Ortho Illinois’ Trauma Service stands ready to respond with expert orthopedic care 24 hours a day. The Orthopedic Trauma Service features orthopedic surgeons with additional specialized training to treat the special needs of traumatic injury.

Utilizing the resources of the Level I Trauma Center at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Level II Trauma Center at SwedishAmerican Health System, and other regional medical facilities provides our orthopedic surgeons immediate access to anesthesiologists, trauma nurses, and the most sophisticated equipment available for stabilizing and supporting critically injured patients from throughout the region. Trauma patients have expert physicians leveraging every resource necessary to provide a full continuity of care for the best possible outcome in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Orthopedic Trauma Service provides round-the-clock coverage to respond to injuries at any hour. A dedicated Transfer Coordinator provides patient transfer services and initiates the clinical consultation for trauma patients. Communication with both the patient and referring physician is a key component of effective patient management. Orthopedic Trauma Service surgeons ensure the referring physician is kept abreast of each patient’s care and will promptly accommodate requests that the patient’s care be returned to the referring physician.
