Anna Jacques, DO

Driven by a fascination with how things work since childhood, Dr. Anna Jacques’ passion for building, fixing, and systems thinking blossomed into a deep love for biomechanics and problem-solving. This early curiosity led to a career dedicated to understanding and repairing the mechanics of the human body.

Dr. Jacques earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, graduating *Magna Cum Laude*. This academic foundation combined with her nature interests naturally guided her towards a career in medicine, culminating in a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Nova Southeastern University Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated with honors, ranking in the top 5% of her class.

Dr. Jacques completed a five-year Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. She further refined her expertise through an Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery Fellowship at the University of Missouri, allowing her to subspecialize in complex orthopedic trauma.

She views the intersection of biological sciences and physics as the core principle of orthopedic trauma, applying precision and analytical thinking to patient care. Dr. Jacques is dedicated to repairing damage and restoring function for individuals facing life-changing injuries, finding fulfillment in uniting engineering principles with healing.

Most recently, as an active member of the Chest Wall Injury Society (CWIS), Dr. Jacques led a project on clavicle fixation in polytraumatized patients. This research has been highly recognized, earning first-place poster awards, was presented to the Orthopedic Trauma Association, and earning first place at the OT Trauma Fellows Forum in 2026.

Currently, Dr. Jacques’ practice at OrthoIllinois focuses on comprehensive, patient-centered care for the full spectrum of orthopedic trauma, regardless of complexity. This encompasses fracture care, traumaplasty, and limb salvage procedures. She holds particular clinical interests in chest wall trauma – specifically lateral implosion injuries involving scapula and rib fractures – reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for fractures, and all hip procedures ranging from arthroscopy to arthroplasty following traumatic injury.

Dr. Jacques embraces a holistic approach to patient care, extending beyond the immediate fracture to encompass overall physiology and recovery. She carefully considers pulmonary function, respiratory recovery, mobilization, and the systemic impact of musculoskeletal injury. Her goal is to deliver a combination of technical expertise, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and compassionate care to restore function, improve quality of life, and guide patients through every phase of their recovery.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Jacques enjoys spending time with her family, engaging in active pursuits and travelling with her husband and son.
