Christopher Faubel, MD
Dr. Christopher Faubel, MD is a double board-certified physician specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Pain Medicine at OrthoIllinois, a division of OrthoMidwest. He treats patients primarily with neck and back pain, utilizing his extensive training and expertise in musculoskeletal medicine and interventional spine care.
Growing up in a small Midwestern town, Dr. Faubel was influenced by the health practitioners he encountered, which inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare after graduating from high school. He attended Eastern Michigan University, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a sports medicine degree for three years. He then transferred to The National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
After practicing as a chiropractor, Dr. Faubel recognized the need to expand his scope of care for patients experiencing muscle, joint, and nerve pain. This realization led him to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Saba University School of Medicine. Upon completing his medical degree, he undertook a four-year residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Louisiana State University, followed by Fellowship training in Pain Medicine.
Dr. Faubel’s advanced training allows him to hold double board certifications from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in both PM&R and Pain Medicine. As a PM&R physician and interventional spine specialist, he provides comprehensive musculoskeletal and conservative back and neck care. He finds great fulfillment in helping patients relieve pain and return to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Faubel’s approach to treating spine conditions centers on identifying the exact source of pain. His diagnostic acumen, honed through years of physical medicine training, enables him to deliver effective treatment plans. His practice emphasizes caring “bedside” manners, appropriate physical therapy referrals, safe medication management, and precision x-ray-guided pain injections, all of which contribute to excellent outcomes and patient satisfaction.
While Dr. Faubel is passionate about helping patients regain their quality of life, he places the utmost importance on his personal life. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their rescue dog, Nacho.
