Roel Sanchez, MD
Coming from a family of healthcare providers, Dr. Roel Sanchez, MD, was exposed to the world of medicine at an early age. As a child, accompanying his father on healthcare brigades provided opportunities to meet outstanding nurses, dentists, and physicians whose compassionate care inspired a lifelong commitment to medicine and shaped his approach to patient care.
Dr. Sanchez earned his medical degree from the University of Montemoreles, School of Medicine, in Mexico, and continued his education with a Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of California in San Diego. Following the fellowship, he completed three years of residency training in Internal Medicine at San Ysidro Health in San Diego.
During residency, his interest in Rheumatology grew, fueled by recent advances in the field that hold great promise for improving patients’ quality of life. Personal experience with effective treatments for himself and family members reinforced his desire to help others attain similar outcomes. Dr. Sanchez finds it highly rewarding when patients experience transformative results.
After residency, Dr. Sanchez pursued advanced training through a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego.
As a Rheumatologist, Dr. Sanchez’s practice focuses on assisting patients with Rheumatoid, Osteo-, and other arthritic conditions, osteoporosis, and autoimmune disorders, with a particular interest in Spondyloarthropathies such as Psoriatic Arthritis, IBD-associated arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis.
