Edric Schwartz, MD
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my experience in healthcare. I am originally from Lombard, Illinois and I earned my B.S. degree in biology at the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana in 1998. I continued my studies at the University of Illinois in Chicago, obtaining my medical degree in 2002.
Following my graduation, I completed an internship and pursued advanced orthopedic training as part of my residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. In addition, I completed another year at a subspecialty training program, or fellowship, in hand surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
My practice is focused on diseases and disorders of the hand and upper extremity. It is my mission to provide all my patients excellent service, as well as compassionate care. I always strive to provide you the same high quality of orthopedic care that I would offer to a member of my family.
I am active in continuing education and have spoken at numerous lectures, made presentations, and have authored an orthopedic research publication.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy weightlifting, jogging, tennis, and playing golf.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further improve your experience at Ortho Illinois. My goal is to provide you the best medical care available.
I am looking forward to meeting you.

Dr. Schwartz was amazing. He explained everything clearly and answered all of my questions. I felt very confident in his care. I would highly recommend this doctor.
Fantastic doctor. Very knowledgeable and confident
Top notch all the way. He made sure my husband and I knew what was happening from the beginning to the time I will be 100%
Dr. Schwartz drew a diagram of my issues. He wrote down my 3 options. He talked directly to me. He had already looked at my X-rays before coming in. He was well prepared.
Dr. Schwartz was excellent. He thoroughly examined my finger, listened to me, answered all of my questions, explained my options.
I truly liked the Provider, he was VERY explanatory and understanding
Thoroughness gets an A+!
Doctor did an amazing job in explaining my situation and giving me options regarding my treatment.
Dr. Schwartz provided me with a complete understanding of the cause for trigger finger, and then gave me a cortisone injection to aid in my recovery. Today it is improving. My care was very rewarding with the professional care each person provided to me.
Dr. Schwarz was very good and explained things very well. We didn't feel rushed with him at all.
Dr Schwartz was excellent! he took the time to draw me a picture and explain various treatment options. I was well informed.
The doctor explained things incredibly well, even drew a graph. He gave his opinion but also allowed us to make the choices. Treated us with respect and had a sense of humor, which is important to us! Thanks.
I highly recommend Dr Schwartz to everyone I know!
Dr. Schwartz is an excellent physician, and I would highly recommend him to others.
The provider was excellent, his name was given to me by a friend who had thumb joint replacement and was very satisfied.
Dr. Schwartz is actually the best doctor I have eveer encountered, he explains the procedure until you understand and he also draws you pictures for you to better understand! He is very good at what he does, and considering he is an adult hand surgeon he has done a more than excellent job with both my kids!! My first child saw him 6 yrs ago and last year he looked after my second child. Overall I would so recommended Dr. Schwartz to everyone and I have over the years bragged about him and his staff doing such a great job!!! Very polite, quick response, and efficient at their job
