Dr. Scott Mox, MD, is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon practicing at OrthoIllinois, a division of OrthoMidwest. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve their goals and return to more active, pain-free lives through personalized and advanced orthopedic care.
Dr. Mox is committed to ongoing learning and mastery of the most advanced orthopedic techniques. He credits his father, a creative industrial designer who specialized in improving product functionality, for inspiring his dedication to utilizing cutting-edge technology in medicine.
Dr. Mox developed a profound interest in joint replacement surgery during his orthopedic residency at Rush University Medical Center. There, he trained under many of the innovators in hip and knee replacement for which Rush is nationally recognized.
Continuing to expand his expertise, Dr. Mox offers his patients the latest treatments, including direct anterior total hip replacement. Notably, he was the first orthopedic surgeon in the region to perform this surgical approach. His practice also includes computer-assisted total knee replacement with Orthoalign, rapid recovery minimally invasive outpatient shoulder, hip, and knee replacement procedures, minimally invasive shoulder rotator cuff surgery, and repairing shoulder instability using advanced techniques such as the Later Jet procedure.
Dr. Mox emphasizes advanced strategies in joint replacement, patient education, multimodal pain management, physical therapy, and rapid recovery to help patients achieve optimal outcomes. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Mox enjoys spending time with his children and family in northern Wisconsin, where he participates in boating, hiking, and skiing. He also enjoys reading historical fiction and bird hunting with his dog Fitz.
