Andrew Jasek, MD
Dr. Andrew Jasek, MD, is one of six rheumatology specialists at OrthoIllinois, a division of OrthoMidwest. Born and raised in Poland, Dr. Jasek received his medical degree and began his career as a neurologist in Warsaw. After practicing neurology for three years, he relocated to the United States, where he completed an additional three years of residency training in internal medicine in Pennsylvania. He subsequently moved to practice medicine at what is now known as MercyHealth.
Dr. Jasek further specialized in rheumatology and established his practice at Mercy Clinic in Janesville, where he served patients for nine years before joining OrthoIllinois. Through his extensive experience, he has developed a special interest in treating rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases, as well as providing care for a wide spectrum of rheumatologic conditions including osteoarthritis, lupus, Sjogren’s disease, connective tissue disease, gout and pseudo-gout, scleroderma, dermatomyositis and polymyositis, vasculitis, and osteoporosis. He is certified in bone densitometry and utilizes musculoskeletal ultrasound to aid in diagnosis.
Dr. Jasek is dedicated to providing his OrthoIllinois patients with accurate diagnoses to help them resume a more active lifestyle. He believes that attentive listening, a deep understanding of diverse disorders, careful review of laboratory tests, and advanced diagnostic tools are essential to effective patient care. His commitment to thorough “detective work” in medicine is what drew him to the field of rheumatology.
He emphasizes a collaborative, partnership-based approach to treatment, ensuring that patients are educated in clear, accessible language about their diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive strategies for disease progression or the development of additional conditions.
Rheumatology is a rapidly evolving specialty, and Dr. Jasek is proud to be at the forefront of advancements in care at OrthoIllinois. He is actively involved in clinical research trials focused on improving outcomes for various rheumatologic conditions.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Jasek enjoys computers and the arts. He is a movie enthusiast, regularly attends theatrical productions, and paints in oils. Dr. Jasek is multilingual and speaks English, Polish, Russian, and German.
