Dr. John Daniels is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon at OrthoIllinois with nearly three decades of experience dedicated to improving the lives of his patients through advanced surgical care. Renowned for his energetic and enthusiastic approach, Dr. Daniels has consistently provided his patients with pathways to more pain-free and active lifestyles since the onset of his career.

As a specialist in total joint replacement, Dr. Daniels has performed over 10,000 total joint replacement surgeries, earning a reputation for exceptional experience, knowledge, and skill. His expertise ensures patients receive predictable and positive outcomes. Dr. Daniels is recognized for his unparalleled experience with robotic technology in the tri-county area, having pioneered the use of Mako robotic-assisted total knee replacement technology locally. He continues to innovate and advance the boundaries of robotic surgical techniques.

Dr. Daniels is the sole surgeon in the region performing direct anterior minimally invasive robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty replacement. His work in this area has yielded remarkable patient results, including faster recovery times, reduced physical therapy requirements, decreased reliance on pain medication, and fewer complications.

A proponent of unicompartmental arthroplasty, Dr. Daniels offers procedures such as kneecap resurfacing and partial knee replacement that preserve the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a critical structure often sacrificed in traditional techniques. His comprehensive understanding of the emotional and physical journey faced by joint replacement patients is enhanced by his own experiences as a recipient of both left and right hip replacements. This personal perspective allows Dr. Daniels to empathize deeply with his patients and relate to their symptoms, concerns, and the transformative impact of surgical intervention.

Dr. Daniels’s philosophy in orthopedic surgery centers on simplicity and compassion. He prioritizes treating patients with warmth, kindness, and respect, beginning with an accurate diagnosis and followed by thorough patient education. His collaborative approach empowers patients to understand their conditions and solution options, working together as a team to restore active lifestyles.

Dr. Daniels offers same-day outpatient procedures at the cutting-edge OrthoIllinois Surgery Center in Elgin, conveniently located just off I-90. The facility is equipped with the latest technology and is designed to deliver exceptional patient care experiences, lower costs, and reduced complication rates.

Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Daniels is an active leader in both the community and the medical field. He has served on numerous boards and committees, playing a pivotal role in influencing the quality of healthcare throughout McHenry County.

In his personal life, Dr. Daniels enjoys spending time on the golf course with friends and family, cooking, gardening, and avidly following the Chicago Bears. While he no longer participates in marathons or mountain climbing, his passion for an active lifestyle continues to inspire his work and his patients.
