Utilizing the latest technology and surgical protocols for the highest level of patient satisfaction!

After almost 30 years as an orthopedic surgeon, I remain as energetic and enthusiastic about providing my patients with a pathway to a more pain-free and active life as the day I began practice.

As a total joint replacement specialist, with over 10,000 total joint replacement surgeries performed, I have the unsurpassed experience, knowledge, and skill to provide patients with predictable positive outcomes. My experience in robotic technology is unparalleled in the tri-county area. I led the field as the first to bring Mako robotic assisted total knee replacement technology to the area and I continue to innovate and push the robotic technology to its limits.

I am the only surgeon performing direct anterior minimally invasive robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty replacement. And my experience has been nothing short of amazing. My patients have experienced faster recovery, less time in physical therapy, less use of pain medication, and fewer complications.

I also embrace the concept of unicompartmental arthroplasty. These procedures, like kneecap resurfacing and partial knee replacement, are unique as they do not sacrifice a critical ligament, the ACL.

I understand the emotional and physical journey of the total joint replacement patient on a personal level. As a recipient of both left and right hip replacements myself, I can relate to symptoms, concerns, and the resulting better quality of life my patients will experience. My philosophy in practicing orthopedic surgery has not changed over my career. I try to keep it simple, treating patients as I would like to be treated, with warmth, kindness, and respect, and starting with an accurate diagnosis. I then fully educate them, so they understand their condition and their solution options, working together as a team toward returning them to an active life.

I offer same day outpatient procedures at the state-of-the-art OrthoIllinois Surgery Center in Elgin, located just off I-90. This facility features the latest technology and offers exceptional patient care experience, lower cost, and lower complication rates.

When not practicing medicine, I have been an active leader in the community and in the medical field, serving on critical boards and committees influencing the quality of healthcare in McHenry County.

While I no longer am running marathons or climbing the tallest mountains, I do enjoy rounds of golf with friends and family, cooking, and gardening, and of course, following my beloved Chicago Bears closely.
