Welcome to OrthoIllinois!

I’d like to take this opportunity to share a little information with you regarding my background, training, and the focus of my orthopedic practice.

From earliest memory I have always held a fascination with science and as I progressed through my primary education, physics and chemistry captured my particular interest. As a dentist, my mother recognized my science-based interests and encouraged me to consider a career in medicine.

Following high school, I entered Yeshiva University in New York City, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry cum laude. During college, I had become quite fascinated with the idea of orthopedics after shadowing several orthopedic surgeons, so I decided to spend a year following graduation doing orthopedic research at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush in Chicago. I then pursued my medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. During my studies I solidified my interest in orthopedics, where the blend of biomechanics, technological advancements, and the applicability to the human musculoskeletal anatomy all intrigued my natural interests. I remained at Indiana to pursue the five years of residency training that would prepare me to specialize as an orthopedic surgeon.

During residency, my interests were further focused on the neck and back, and I chose to undergo another year of subspecialty training with a Spine Surgery Fellowship at one of the highest-volume spine fellowships in the country at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. This additional advanced training equipped me with the specific skills and experience to become an orthopedic spine surgeon.

Today, my practice at OrthoIllinois is primarily focused on minimally-invasive and outpatient spine surgery, including total disc replacement in the cervial and lumbar spine. As a specialist, my goal is to provide my patients with all of the latest information and insight needed to understand their condition, the treatment options available, and then together decide the best option for them. Whether pursuing conservative, non-surgical measures, or the least invasive and most cutting-edge surgical procedure available, I want my patients to feel confident and comfortable with the treatment plan.

Thank you for choosing me to provide your care. I look forward to helping you return to a more active life!
